What Are the Requirements for Album Art?
Updated over a year ago

When submitting an artwork for your album, it's important to use the .jpg file format and ensure that the image is at least 3000x3000 pixels. For optimal results, we recommend a perfectly square image. However, if your artwork is not square, our system will automatically adjust it for you. Just keep in mind that the final result may not be exactly what you intended.

Additionally, please make sure that your artwork is in the RGB colorspace. This is usually the default setting in most digital cameras and photo editing software. However, if you encounter an error message from Anti-Joy, it may be because your artwork was saved in CMYK or Grayscale color space. In this case, simply re-save your artwork in RGB format before submitting it.

If you use Photoshop, click "Image" > "Mode" > "RGB Color". If you don't have Photoshop, uploading and re-saving your file with the Canva editor will automatically convert it to RGB.

Streaming services will reject artwork that contains

  • A website address (URL)

  • Twitter name

  • The terms 'Exclusive' or 'Limited Edition'

  • Any image that's blurry, pixelated, rotated, or poor quality

  • Unlicensed/stock photography

  • Prices

  • Streaming service logos (such as iTunes or Spotify)

  • Nudity

  • Gross stuff (like gore)

  • References to physical media (example: "CD" or "Compact Disc")

Also, please do not use the same artwork for multiple albums. Duplicate album art may be rejected.
